Fery On The Move: Table Mountain Great hiking trail and tips how to make it to the Top in 1 hour

Hiking table mountains for the first time it was indeed a big satisfaction. We managed to hike one of the new wonders of the world in 1h15 min with short breaks when needed and we have burnt around 1200 calories.

I have to admit we didn't do any significant sport activity in more than a year and it was a bit challenging for us. Cape Town you give me so much energy!

Table Mountain is one of the New Wonders of the World and it provides Cape Town millions of visitors every year from all over the world. It will be even more tourists flow if the visa formalities for some countries wouldn't be so strict. Our adventure started from the Platterklip Gorge and from there we hiked to the top but not before starting our Stair stepper option on the watches to see how much physical effort we have done.

Platterklip Gorge is the most direct and popular route to the top of the mountain. Checking the weather condition before its very important to be able to achieve your goal and get to the top.

The path is well constructed with stone steps and anti-erosions gabions. The going can be though and its very important to wear special shoes for hiking.

As we were climbing and hoping to make it to the top we had a great feeling of satisfaction and we have met many people, couples and groups, encouraging us to keep going and some even offering to help. From time to time we stopped for water breaks. Take a bottle of water in your backpack, as well an apple or a fitness bar just in case you need some energy. The last 20-30 minutes were exhausting and very windy. I recommend to take a jacket with you to not be freezing up to the top. If you plan climbing down be very careful because is more dangerous than climbing up.

Once you get to the top you have the greatest feeling, a feeling that cannot be described in words.

Be ready with a fully charged camera or mobile phone to take the best photos and don't forget to share them here with us!

My next hiking story is about Lion's Head!
